Supervisor, Energy Efficiency, New Construction (Hybrid)

This position supervises a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants responsible for engagement with customers, developers, home builders, architects, engineers, HERS raters, sustainability consultants, and other building/home design and construction professionals to promote energy efficiency and decarbonization in new home and new commercial building construction projects across all three Eversource states. The position is responsible for team progress toward program savings goals and for effective execution of program strategy. The position also leads the team in engaging with internal stakeholders, including the sales, engineering, marketing, regulatory, and evaluation teams. The position regularly interacts with customers, regulators and other external stakeholders, including other Mass Save, NH Saves, and Energize CT program administrators.
The team is a tri state team (CT, MA and NH) and as such this role may support projects, program components and team members in all three states. See the following links for program related information: Mass Save, Energize CT, and NH Saves.
This is a hybrid role.
Essential Functions:
This position does the following:
- Requires detailed knowledge of the Residential New Construction and the C&I New Construction program offerings across all three states to enable effective leadership of team members who work on program implementation.
- Directly supervises a tri state team of Energy Efficiency Consultants. Supervisory responsibilities include:
- Empowering and enabling staff to execute on team goals by helping address customer issues, helping to improve program integration across programs (e.g., Retrofit, Express, Small Business, etc.) and helping to improve program processes across departments (e.g., Evaluation, Engineering, Sales, etc.)
- Building and expanding staff skills,
- Fostering creative thinking, innovation and an environment of constant program improvement.
- Performing assessments, recruiting and filling positions, as needed.
- Oversees the budgeting, invoicing, and tracking of expenses and energy savings, as well as the development of RFPs for contracted services, as needed. Reports progress to managers and above as needed.
- Collaborates with the Program Manager on activities that will set future direction of the programs.
- Contributes to long-term strategic program evolution through a market transformation lens.
- Continues to de-silo the various programs that Eversource offers on its own and as a Sponsor of Mass Save, NH Saves or Energize CT.
- Develops relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and contractors that participate in assigned energy efficiency programs.
- Implements process improvements (internal and external) and works toward consistent approach to implementing the program in terms of process, program related policies, tools, marketing materials.
- Executes on department plans to ensure compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funds for Energy Efficiency programs.
- Leads the development of draft testimony and testifies in front of regulatory and legislative bodies as assigned.
- Represents Eversource in regional or national energy efficiency conferences and/or stake holder events (e.g. ACEEE, NESEA, NBI, USGBC) and with advisory boards.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires fundamental knowledge of building energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies and strategies.
- Requires solid understanding of financial principals.
- Requires ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel).
- Requires excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Demonstrates leadership, mentoring, and networking skills.
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of EVERSOURCE’s mission, organization, functional areas and resources, business strategies, Codes of Conduct, Business Ethics, Environmental and Diversity Policies.
Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, environmental studies/policy, energy efficiency or equivalent relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in construction management, engineering, architecture, environmental studies/policy/program implementation. Knowledge of energy efficiency and building/home decarbonization strategies is considered essential.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Relevant energy efficiency certifications desired.
