The Strategic Project Development Team at Eversource is on the cusp of exciting advancements in the energy industry. Our group committed to supporting company efforts to: enable the integration of expanding amounts of clean energy and renewable generation; make the electric system more reliable and resilient; and ensure prudent investments are made to meet corporate and regional energy goals.

The Strategic Program Analyst will contribute to the advancement of Major and Strategic Projects, getting ground-floor experience in Transmission strategy, policy, and program development. Strategic Program Analyst will support facilitation of key strategic programs, initiatives, and processes, interfacing with partners in Planning, Engineering, Siting, Engagement and Equity, Regulatory, Legal and Project Management.

The role is located in Hartford, CT.

Essential Functions

  • Supports new executive-level committees such as the Concept Initiation Committee (CIC) and Transmission Development Advisory Council (TDAC), including facilitation of material development, tracking and reporting metrics associated with key program and policy initiatives.

  • Develops a project tracking database to manage key strategic project decisions and authorizations approval process.

  • Supports project quality assurance processes that evaluate all aspects of the Strategic Project Development Process.

  • Analyzes processes and data and converts this into value added thinking and information.

  • Identifies opportunities for process change or continuous improvement and facilitates the acceptance and implementation of the change.

  • Support the Manager of Strategic Project Development in implementing process improvement initiatives as it relates to strategic project development.

  • Develops reports, prepare presentations, write procedures, and perform other activities as needed.

  • Initiates and increases collaboration internally and externally.

  • Maintains familiarity with current and upcoming Policies and Programs that could facilitate Transmission Development.

  • Responsible for storm restoration and emergency assignments.

  • Performs and implements special assignments as necessary.

Technical Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of personalities and people

  • Ability to provide insight and perform detail-based analysis of technical subject matters.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish priorities, anticipate problems, and influence outcomes.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks appropriately.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.

  • Ability to develop and present reports within the organization.

  • Strong computer and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills (including written, oral, and public speaking) required.

  • Experience with electrical utilities and electrical distribution systems, preferred.

  • High degree of personal ownership and accountability.

Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3-5 years of related experience. Utility industry experience strongly preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver’s license is required

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

  • Our hybrid working schedule is first 90 days are in the office and then hybrid.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $84,340.00 - $93,710.00 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
