As a Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll be part of a team delivering an exceptional service to the Heysham 1 site in a variety of projects, you will need to exhibit our key values and be able to integrate with the client and other contract partners in all areas of all Health and Safety. Your engagement and relationship building with key operational stakeholders across the business will help ensure that we are delivering and where possible, exceeding against expectations.

Job Purpose

Dalkia is seeking an experienced Health & safety Adviser to support our Heysham 1 team in solving complex organizational and operational challenges through people-based safety solutions and allow us to grow our unique culture as we grow the business. You’ll be an integral part of the team, so you’ll need to understand every aspect of the business and act as a leader regarding HSE within the Heysham 1 team. You will be guiding supervisors and managers through H&S in what is an exciting time of growth for the Dalkia Heysham 1 team. hence your ability to establish your personal and functional credibility and to build strong working relationships acting as a trusted advisor will be key. This is a full-time opportunity based in the Northwest working from the Heysham 1 Power Station office. Travel maybe occasionally required to other Dalkia sites / Offices to support the growing portfolio of projects within Specialist Services, attend training or peer groups.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Partner with specified Dalkia Projects to deliver a comprehensive Safety and Health advisory and guidance service to Project Managers and their teams to ensure all aspects of best practice safe working environment are established and maintained.
• Support Dalkia’s pre-qualification process across Health, Safety, Environment and Quality components of bids.
• Monitor Project site compliance and procedures against Imtech’s policies and propose solutions.
• Reviews Risk Assessments, Method Statements and POWRA
• Carry out HSEQ audits and inspections as directed by the H&S Lead.
• Provides expert resources for investigations into incidents and near misses, illnesses, and injuries in order to establish root causes and so make recommendations for changes and improvements to prevent reoccurrences.
• Take a broad / long term perspective and proactively identify complex challenges and think systemically. Identify and offer solutions and drive implementation.

• Work closely with the Business leadership and HR teams to define appropriate safety initiatives and plans.
• Work on a range of HSE improvement projects and initiatives
• Support development of Subcontractor and suppliers’ approach to HSE performance and compliance.
• Prepare presentations and data/insights analysis working with other H&S Advisors and subject matter experts as required.
