Expected salary range of $157,500 to $175,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Constellation is seeking a candidate for a Senior Asset Manager position who will be working in the Wholesale Origination Team.
This is a remarkable opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant contribution to the renewable energy sector. With a focus on contractual administration and asset management, this role is at the heart of our wholesale origination group, ensuring efficient, compliant, and profitable project performance. The Senior Asset/Contract Manager is a new position in our organization and will have the ability to implement new process and or systems as we grow our presence in the renewables space. It will require requires maintaining an understanding of the underlying project assets structures (financial, technical & contractual), including managing development reviews, compliance, reporting, and optimization. The position will be responsible for proactively participating in cross functional teams to help resolve material issues affecting operational projects driving strategic growth while nurturing strong relationships with wind and solar developers ensuring all project obligations and interests are successfully administered under project agreements and help resolve any contractual issues with counterparties from development through operation.
The Constellation Origination team is based in Baltimore at the Constellation headquarters, but this role can be flexible for remote work.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Wholesale Power Purchase Agreements: Administer wholesale power purchase agreements with various nuclear assets and wind and solar developers, addressing and resolving any contractual issues. Negotiate and/or amend project agreements to improve asset performance or mitigate risk.
- Asset Management: Maximize the value of renewable energy assets, assessing operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Compliance and Regulatory Obligations: Ensure all project obligations are successfully administered and regulatory requirements are met. Support the development of information sharing platforms and work management systems, including populating such systems with historical records and archiving of documents.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with developers, retail customers and internal teams to facilitate smooth project transitions into commercial operation. Prepare and present reports for project stakeholders as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience including: a commercial role within the energy industry, such as project development, project management, asset management, contract administration, deal execution, or project finance.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy; Ability to think creatively, manage competing priorities, work independently, and pay attention to detail.
- Knowledge of renewable energy markets and project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial analysis of structures wholesale power transactions.
- Knowledge of North American regional power markets including transmission and interconnection queues.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as a team member and demonstrated ability to perform under time and pressure conditions
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products, CRM software and analytic tools
- Ability for overnight travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics or related field; MBA
- Direct experience in leading key commercial transactions and PPA negotiations and other related offtake agreements.
