Constellation is looking for Mechanical, Materials, or Civil Engineers to join our team at our LaSalle Power Station in Marseilles, IL.

***This Engineering role can be filled at the Entry, Mid-level or Senior Engineer level. Please see minimum qualifications list below for each level***

Expected salary range:

  • Entry Level - $82,500
  • Mid-Level - $88,000 - $108,000
  • Sr Level - $115,000- $141,000

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.

Responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks, under direct supervision, in support of nuclear plant operations. Specific areas of responsibilities are managing the following ASME programs: InService Inspection, Reactor Vessel Internals, Pressure Testing, and Repair/Replacement of ASME Section XI piping/components. The use of procedures, drawings, schematics, and general engineering practices is required to perform this role.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs. (25%)
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems. (15%)
  • Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles. (15%)
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications. (15%)
  • Provide complete task management of engineering issues. (10%)
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs. (10%)
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. (10%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry Level E01 Engineering Analyst

  • Non-Engineering, Associates, or Technical Degree OR
  • HS Diploma and 1 year Nuclear or related engineering experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-level E02 Engineering Analyst

  • Non-Engineering, Associates, or Technical Degree and 2+ years Nuclear or related engineering experience OR
  • HS Diploma and 2+ years Nuclear or related engineering experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior E03 Engineering Analyst

  • Non-Engineering, Associates, or Technical Degree and 5+ years Nuclear or related engineering experience OR
  • HS Diploma and 5+ years Nuclear or related engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS for all levels

  • ASME Section XI knowledge and experience
  • Advanced technical degree or related coursework
  • Commercial or Navy Nuclear Power Plant Experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Team culture/dynamic – 5 Program Engineers each at Clinton and LaSalle is a combined crew with 1 Manager. Strong communication and presentation skills to advocate for projects, good cross-department teamwork to coordinate inspections and repairs.
  • Career advancement – Potential paths are becoming a technical expert and transition to a fleet Subject Matter Expert role, becoming an Engineering Manager, or transition to another department such as becoming a Licensed Operator or Maintenance Supervisor, as well as Station or corporate senior management roles.

Semi-hybrid work environment: engineers work a mix of remote and onsite as REQUIRED. Current onsite support is 3 days mandatory, Tues-Thurs. Onsite activities include but not limited to refuel outages, plant walkdowns, support of inspections/repair questions. Remote support on Monday and Friday will be optional after qualifications are completed.
