Job Description
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
A Quality Assurance (QA) involves ensuring products and services meet established quality standard
by performing routine inspections, conducting tests, identifying defects, documenting findings, and
proposing improvements to maintain high quality throughout the production process, while adhering to
company policies and industry regulations; key responsibilities include monitoring operations,
analyzing data, creating training materials, and collaborating with teams to address quality issues.
Key responsibilities may include:
Performing quality checks:
Conducting routine inspections and testing for products to verify compliance with specifications and
quality standards
Identifying defects:
Detecting and reporting any deviations from quality standards, including errors, inconsistencies or non
confirming products.
Analyzing data:
Reviewing quality metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and potential problems.
Developing quality procedure:
Contributing to the creation and implementation of quality assurance policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Investigating complaints:
Analyzing customer complaints and initiating corrective actions to address quality issues.
Training and education:
Providing training to employees on quality standards and procedures
Auditing processes:
Conducting internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify potential risks
Reporting to management:
Communicating quality concerns and improvement recommendations to relevant team members and
stakeholders.

For Assignment Level I:
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
For Assignment Level II (Information Technology):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
