Job Description
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day.
In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic IT Service Specialist 2 who will:
- Provide second level (L2) support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for end-users.
- Collaborating closely with network, server, and security teams to troubleshoot IT infrastructure issues.
- Install and Configure office workstation/ VoIP phone for new users and move the equipment to designated locations.
- Identify and mitigate potential security threats, including malware and phishing attacks.
- Install and maintain a comprehensive in-house application (e.g. Case management)
- Communicate effectively with end-users to ensure their IT needs are met.
- Manage asset inventory and maintain documentation for IT equipment.
- Assist with desktop/laptop imaging and deployment using Ivanti management.
- Install, configure, and update operation system (Windows 11), software application and security patches.
- Log, track, and document issues using in-house ticketing system.
- Troubleshooting VPN, remote desktop, and cloud-based services (M365).
- Liaising with application vendors and internal development teams to report and escalate issues and track their resolution.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time experience, in mainframe computer, mid-range computer, LAN or WAN computer environments and or local desktop support; or"
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience, as described in "1" above; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. Undergraduate college credit can be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits, from an accredited college or university, for six months of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time experience, as described in "1" above.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA A+) are beneficial. - Proven experience in application support roles, preferably in a level 2 or level 3 support capacity. - Familiarity with software application development, rollout, and data integration. - Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues. - Experience in working with application vendors and internal development teams to escalate and resolve issues. - Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and across different units. - Detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
