The New York City Mayor’s Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five
boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. New York

The Team You’ll Work With

In keeping with the Mayor's vision for a safe, equitable, and just City of New York, the Deputy Mayor’s
Office of Public Safety (OPS) is dedicated to creating a unified public safety ecosystem where all city
agencies tasked with safeguarding New York City are working together to preserve peace, enforce the
law, and protect the lives and property of those who live, work, and visit communities across the five
boroughs. The Office provides support, ensures accountability, and fosters collaboration between the
City’s public safety agencies.

The Problems You’ll Solve

- Act as the primary liaison between the training sections of all city agencies that employ peace
officers and police officers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop comprehensive curriculum, guidelines, and training standards for all peace and police
officers, ensuring they meet the specific needs of each agency while maintaining consistency
across the board.
- Collaborate with the State Municipal Training Council to verify that all training programs comply
with state minimum requirements, facilitating necessary adjustments as needed.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of a robust training framework for peace and police
officers, ensuring that all training initiatives are aligned with best practices and current
standards in public safety.
- Work closely with all public safety agencies to ensure that peace officers and police officers
receive thorough and effective training, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and
professional development.
- Coordinate with various agencies to optimize training resources and consolidate training
classes, promoting efficiency and maximizing the impact of training efforts across the city.

About You

- You have a Bachelor's Degree with a preference of having an advanced degree.
- You have 15+ years of relevant law enforcement experience.
- You have experience in developing training and training police officers and peace officers.
- You have experience coordinating operations involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
- You have experience in managing both civilian and law enforcement staff.
- You have experience with complex operations.
- You have excellent communication, writing, research, analytical, organizational, interpersonal,
time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
- You can take the initiative, prioritize duties, pay close attention to detail, prioritize tasks, and
work independently and under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
- You have experience leading and managing complex projects in a fast-paced setting.
- You are flexible and have a creative approach to making plans, using resources, and solving
problems.

- You have a Bachelor's Degree.
- You have 15+ years of relevant law enforcement experience.
