The Office of Citywide Procurement (OCP) develops, awards, and administers approximately 1,100 requirement contracts for goods and services on behalf of all City agencies, departments, boards, and authorities leveraging the City’s buying power and maximizing efficiencies by reducing duplicative work. Procures, on average, nearly $1.5 billion in goods and services for City agencies annually. Agency Procurement Operations within OCP oversees the procurement of construction, services, and goods for the various programs within the agency and oversees contract administration and liaises with the Mayor's Office of Contract Services (MOCS) and the Comptroller's Office on behalf of the agency concerning procurement-related issues.

DCAS seeks to hire two Motor Vehicle Operators within the DCAS Logistics and Central Storehouse whose primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Operating one or more types of motor vehicles, including but not limited to passenger cars, vans, trucks, forklifts, tractor-trailer trucks, etc.
- Transporting employees and materials to and from work locations.
- Acting as a chauffeur to an official,
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance:
- Check the tires, oil, and fuel of the vehicle.
- Replenishing fluids as needed
- Checking the vehicle lights, horn, and brakes are operating correctly.
- Report any noticeable mechanical defects in the vehicle.
- Maintenance of the interior and exterior of the vehicle
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and passengers.
- Operate motor equipment mounted on or transported by the vehicle and be responsible for tools, supplies, materials, and equipment carried in or on the assigned vehicle.
- Perform additional duties like running errands, answering phones, and delivering mail and/or small packages when not driving.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements: There are no formal education or experience requirements.
Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.


Preferred Skills

- Possession of a commercial driver’s license (CDL) indicating ability to drive specialized vehicles.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
