Job Description

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations, and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation.

The Health and Wellness Section seeks a qualified Family Assistance Administrator responsible for the following:

- Greet, check-in and register clients on arrival (complete, scan, and file any relevant intake or other required documentation as indicated) ensuring high level customer service
- Manage telecommunications for appointments/rescheduling with commands and individuals as needed
- Maintain clinical database of appointments for members of service (Call, confirm and follow up on appointments for individual or critical incident stress management support)
- Manage clinical services schedule for providers in H+W (in office and in field placement schedule for precincts) with oversight of Section leadership
-Assists in clinical training coordination for clinical staff
- Manage and store required consent, confidential documentation, and other paperwork
- Log and track data centered on services rendered, volume, outcomes, and other reportable data metrics -Provide clerical and administrative support functions to Executive Director and Deputy Director
- Provide clerical oversight of the daily operations of the Health and Wellness support service
- Maintain accurate count of active support cases, Critical Incident Stress Management data
- Role also requires drafting memorandums, copying documents, filing, handling inter-and-intra-agency communications and other related office procedures
- Maintain updated inventory of office supplies and equipment
- Escalate emergent clinical issues as needed to Executive Director or Deputy Director
- Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time administrative experience, at least one year of which must have been in the fields of real estate, taxation, law or public administration. In addition, 18 months must have been in a supervisory capacity; or

2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have 18 months of supervisory experience and the one year of specialized experience as described in "1" above. Education may be substituted for the administrative or specialized experience described above (but not for the 18 months of supervisory experience) at the rate of a two year master's degree in business administration or public administration substituting for one year of experience.

Residency Requirement

New York City Residency is required within 90 days of appointment unless the candidate is a current city employee with 2 or more years of continuous city service. Candidates with 2 or more years of continuous city service are permitted to reside within the counties of Nassau, Westchester, Suffolk, Orange, Rockland, or Putnam.
