Overview:

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job)

Under the direction of the Park Maintenance Director and/or his designee, prepares the ground for flower beds, arranges flower beds, weeds, and trims beds. Performs related work as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares soil for beds, plants, and seeds.
  • Works beds and pots plants.
  • Transfers plants to beds.
  • Plants grass.
  • Trims hedges and prunes flowering bushes and shrubbery.
  • Removes dirt, rubbish, leaves, and refuse.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have two (2) years of paid experience as a Gardener.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Pre-employment physical required.

CORI check required.

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

Terms:

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: AFSCME/RA1-11L
Hours per week: 40
