Overview:

This is a provisional appointment.

Reporting to the Commander of the District, or an assigned designee, the Detectives Clerk will be assigned to District A-1 and will work closely and cooperatively with District Detectives to assist with daily functions.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assigning reports to detectives on a daily basis; typing reports, letters, memorandums, and other correspondence; data entry.
  • Tracking licensed premise violations and inspections.
  • Generating weekly reports based on information logged into the database.
  • Maintaining time and attendance records for Detectives.
  • Answering phone inquiries and giving information to the public; addressing and mailing correspondence; maintaining files and databases.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paid professional experience in administrative office work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
